We stock only non-venomous snakes like Boas, King Snakes, Milk Snakes, Rat Snakes etc.

Reasons why snakes can be kept in captivity are the observation of the behaviour of snakes, such as their feeding, mating and the possible rearing of young born in captivity. An important aspect of all reptile husbandry is the maintenance of accurate written records which can be used to reveal any irregularities in the food and feeding pattern, the shedding of skin or other abnormal behaviour.

Before you buy snakes as pets, you should be familiar with the specific care of the particular species of snakes you want to keep. There are three basic "truths" in keeping reptiles alive and healthy in captivity. These three items are heat, lighting and cage furniture. You should know what the requirements are for your particular snake.

Breeding and selling snakes can be a very profitable hobby as the demand for snakes is booming.

Remember:
•• . Always feed snakes separately. (For small snakes, try securing in paper bags with the food)
•• . Always wash your hands after handling other animals before handling snakes.
•• Use the "Buddy System" when handling snakes over 3meter long.
•• . Dust all food items with Reptivite Reptile Vitamins to provide complete nutritional requirements.
•• . . . White lights must be turned off at night. Use red Aquarium Bulbs or Repti-Therm UTH™ at night if temperature drops below recommended range.
•• . . . When using wood shavings for a substrate, use only pine or fur. Don't use cedar as it's oils may cause sickness or death in reptiles.
